I am very much a Daddy’s Girl. My dad has never been able to say no to any of my requests, but at the same time, I can never say no to anything my dad asks of me.
Growing up in a traditional Taiwanese family, it is very easy to be second best considering I am not their first-born son. However, my dad never treated me like a second-rate daughter – everything he gave to my older brother, he made sure I had something of equal value. Also, he would never get mad at me for doing something wrong; it was always my mother who doled out all my punishments. In his eyes, I was like a perfect daughter, and I love him so very much.
To this day, my father still treats me like I’m 15 years old sometimes, and when I’m around him, I still act like I’m a teenager. Whenever I go back to Taiwan, I stay at my parent’s apartment. My dad drives me around, picks me up when I go to meet my friends, and gives me money and a cell phone.
