I had a rather large night last night. My good friend CY (who we have renamed Hollywood) who knows everyone worth knowing in Manhattan, scored us a dinner reservation to the opening of the new restaurant in the Nomad Hotel. I was uber excited due to the fact that not only is it a new restaurant, but it is the new venture of Chef Daniel Humm from Eleven Madison Park, and his business partner Will Guidara, the general manager from EMP. Let’s just say I have a small (read HUGE) crush on Will and thought the chances of him being there on opening week would be pretty high.
The evening started off wonderfully, my girlfriend Lindsay met me for pre-dinner drinks at the bar, where we befriended bartender Will (not to be confused with schoolgirl crush manager Will). We then saw Chef Wylie Dufresne from WD-50 and got excited for a whole second. Then we both realized that he is really unattractive, and we both hated the food at his restaurant, hence the excitement was short-lived.
